Technology Career Advice for the Masses

Recently I received an email from a soon to graduate high school student and a college student both asking for technology career advice.  While I miss the days that I contemplated being an architect, carpenter or CPA, I can honestly say picking up technology was the most rewarding choice I've ever made.

How to enhance YOURLS for spam control/throttling, unshortening and weekly stats

So I've been using YOURLS link shortener PHP code to power mrte.chYOURLS is a fantastic system created by Ozh Richard – @Ozh on Twitter and Lester Chan – @GamerZ on Twitter.

The latest updates are incredible and provide tons of features and control but there were a couple of spots that I've enhanced:

Using Mozilla Firefox Test Builds Yet? Live on the edge without bleeding?

Ok, so I'm a total Mozilla Firefox bleeding edge builds fanboy. This is mostly a very smooth and rewarding experience but at times have found myself rebuilding over and over again to get back to where I was.  There are mostly three types of builds:

MR Tech Twitter Bookmarklet, Link Shortening #yawn, Why Bother?

Welll I finally decided that half a billion twitter apps, hacks and tweaks wheren't enough to fill the void of features that I wanted so I'm officially kicking off my Tech Tweet efforts.  I have several ideas that I'm working on and will be rolling them out, but I wanted to start up with a simple bookmarklet and work my way up.
