• Memories: Visiting Manati, Puerto Rico brought back many memories. You'll find Manati on the North-Central coast of the island. We moved when I was young so I didn't remember much, but the surroundings were familiar and the buildings the same.

• Mom: My Mom lives in Mayaguez, which is on the Western coast of the island. This positioning has saved her from a lot of hurricane activities in the past few years.

• Family: Most of my family still lives in Manati, so when visiting we normally make a 3-4 hour trek over to visit them. Manati is where my brothers went to school, as well as the base for all family stories and anecdotes.

• Quick Stop: My last visit was a last minute fling. I had a ticket, needed to use it and decided to take some time off and visit my Mom. I only spent a week, but I enjoyed it, because all I did was lay back, watch TV, waddle on over to my Aunts house and goof off. Having a home cooked meal is something I will always miss. The first night I got there my mother had plenty of home cooked food ready. I had some pastelles, alcapuria, arrozo, and a lot more.
